My "Bee" Experience

Well my big day came after a full moon the night before. I arrived on time and checked myself in anticipating my big experience. My number was #19. The ladies in charge were very nice and helpful.

I sat there and began to mentally prepare. I was scared, but I managed very well. I did a little squirming in my chair...but everyone else did it too. It was like a sea of legs swinging away. Do you think they were nervous too?

My schoolmate dropped out in the 2nd round leaving me carry the load. I managed to make it through 3 rounds and then in the 4th
I had a "terrible" experience...I misspelled the word...T.E.R.R.I.B.L.E....get it! In my mind I knew the correct spelling...but my mouth didn't cooperate and I spelled it wrong!!!!!

If you haven't guessed by now...these bold words were the ones that came my way at the BEE.

I have attached pictures so you can see just how cute my shirt was and how handsome I looked in it. Just kidding!!!!!!!

This was a wonderful experience...now that I know how it works and I will surely try again next year and WIN!!!! Check me out at the Spelling Bee

  1. Dylan;

    I am so proud of you for going that far! You have been a great representative for Briscoe. I know you well enough to know that you will NEVER mispell that word again! By looking at the faces of the 2 young ladies sitting next you in the picture, they are just as amazed at your speaking skills as the rest of us! Have a great Spring Break! I hope to see you and the rest of the students soon after Spring Break!

  4. Dylan,

    What a wonderful blog! And congrats on your spelling bee competition...I am really proud of you because I am a horrible speller and could NEVER get in front of people and "try" to spell. Your blog has inspired me to make a family blog for my kidos. It took me all week to figure it out (I almost called you ha!) but I did it and it is up and running. So thanks! Stop by and check out my goofy kids! Thanks again Dylan!
