YAHOO...It's Party Time Again!

It's just me....giving you some in site into my weekend!

I tell ya, we're becoming some real party animals!
I imagine that's what happens when you have lots of cousins who all have birthdays right in a row.

This time we went to Fiesta Farms. It's was loads of fun. They had all kinds of animals you could pet and ride. We even went on a hayride...how fun is that. Have you ever been on a hayride...I recommend it highly.

These are just pictures of me riding that ole horse. Of course I was holding on for dear life. It only took me 3 tries to finally get on for the ride. I would get in line....BUT...when it came my turn I would sort of "chicken" out...if you know what I mean. Finally on the 3rd try I went for it and loved it.

Had a great time....Happy Birthday, Pamela. Thanks for a fun party!

See ya soon!

What A Party!

WOW, what a weekend we had. Uncle David n Aunt Delia's wedding was really nice! There were lots of people in the church to see us. I had never even been in a wedding...that was really interesting. Just sitting there and being quiet was something else. Here's a picture of the Fernandez men getting ready for the big day!!!! Don't we look handsome?

Here's a of me entering with my partner. The one of the whole party is above. We had to enter arm in arm....the younger group had no problem with that...BUT...the older kids were making all kinds of faces. My Mom set them straight. Let me tell you, they all did their part and looked really great.

Of course, my biggest fan (aka Mom) had taken a dozen or so picture before we even left the house. I tell ya, there isn't another kid around who has as many picture of themselves as I do. But then again, it was a special day so I guess it's okay. Thanks, Mom.

This was our family picture....are we the greatest or what??? I love ya, Mom and Dad!

Then I couldn't close without putting a pic of my cousin Ileana and I.

Then came time for the reception(that's another word for PARTY). It was to die for...I think I danced all night long. The DJ played all the really cool music I like...Cupid Shuffle, Thriller...you know the rest. Everyone was complaining about their sore feet...NOT ME...I took my Crocs (they might've been green...not quite a match, but sure felt good) and changed half way through the party. Let me tell you a tux and Crocs really go well together. Checkout the pic to the left...that's me out there dancing up a storm. I rocked!!

This was a wonderful weekend. Can you believe I even slept in on Sunday. I was sooooooooooo tired. But, all good things must come to an end and today I had to return to school.

See ya again real soon....have homework to finish...hope you liked the pictures I had to share.

Dylan

PS: I've been doing really good in school...no red check marks last week. I might just get off restriction one day real soon. This no TV, no Legos things is no fun.

To Think All It Took Was A Ball!

Hi, it's me again!

Don't know if I ever mentioned I was losing one of my front teeth. This all started during summer camp when I bumped into another kid's head. I was just minding my own business...BUT not watching where I was going. It looked so funny Uncle Steven called me Dylly McPhee. My Mom took me to the dentist and they said it would come out in due time. She said you can't rush a good thing...the longer your baby teeth stay in, the better the new teeth will be. So all this time I've been looking funny if you know what I mean.

Today we were at Wally Mart...I was just being myself (again) bouncing a "cookie monster" ball and yep, you got it...it hit me in the mouth and out popped my tooth. Now I know how Ileana felt so many years ago. You don't know how many times my parents tried to get that tooth to come out. They pulled on it, threatened to tie it to the door knob and other fun things. Everyone gave us their own remedy for getting it to come loose. But none of them worked and some we really didn't want to try.

To think all we needed was a rubber ball. Here is a picture of me...toothless! The only good thing is the new tooth is already knocking on the door. That will limit my toothless time. I'm in my Uncle David's wedding next weekend and all I needed was to be toothless while wearing my first tux. I really wanted to look cool...oh well, that's life. (I'll post pics of the event next weekend.) I tell my Mom I won't give my usual broad smile for the group pictures. I want to look somewhat normal.

Enough for today....have a great week. I'm already dreading tomorrow. I plan to stay quiet all day so they won't even know I lost my tooth. For sure the new teacher will be very happy.

Three Weeks Down and Counting!

Hey everyone...I bet you've missed me haven't you? Admit it....I know you have!

School is going great. Third grade is pretty cool after all. I've been doing good. We received our progress report on Friday and I had nothing lower than an 87...pretty good for 3 weeks I think. We have plenty of homework everyday, but I'm surviving.

The sad part is that we lost our teacher. You know, the one I also had last year. She had a great opportunity to move up the ladder and she took it. We'll miss her... but we'll still see her in our school all the time...we wish her well! Way to go Mrs. Polanco-Rosas...you rock!

Will keep you posted as time goes by. See ya soon!

Hello Everyone.

Where has the time gone!!! I had a great summer, hope you did too. I learned alot of new things.... like surfing and swimming in a large pool (without my safety vest). You know my mom, I had to wear the vest or I would sink to the bottom of the pool. I managed to get all that taken care of. Then to finish off my summer we took a trip to the coast to enjoy a few days at the beach. It was the greatest!!!

But now it's back to SCHOOL!!!! I have the same teacher I had last year. Okay now, before you start thinking I didn't pass, let me tell you I did, it's just that my teacher moved up to teach the 3rd grade. Isn't that the greatest? Do you think she's thrilled to have me in her class again???

I've already been busy learning new things. Lots to learn in this grade you know......like multiplication, division, handwriting...and the list goes on and on. My mom says, "the 3rd grade is a very important grade... you have to take this big test in the spring and if you don't pass... you'll have to stay in 3rd grade" so I will work really hard this year to make sure I pass.

Needless to say, I've had a ruff start staying on task - but I am sure I will get better...after all it's only the 3rd week of school.....still have lots of bad habits from the summer.

Let's keep in touch!!!

School's Out For The Summer...........

Hi, everyone,

Have you missed me? I hadn't written because I was waiting for Flat to return. I guess he had such a good time he just decided to live wherever it was he went to visit. Maybe one day soon he will decide to rejoin our great family....only time will tell.

In the meantime school has ended and summer has begun. We had a great ending to our school year...we watched movies and played all day. I am now officially a THIRD GRADER!!!!! I wondered when this day would come....I know I've been dreading it and I may still. For now I guess I will relish in the wonder of it all....lol

Today was my first day at summer recreation. Mom took me really early and my favorite cousin Ileana was there to meet me. She knows all the ropes and she helped me get acquainted with all the rules and regulations. She said she would bring snacks tomorrow....can't wait to get there. What a cousin! Thanks, Sally....*that's her favorite nickname.

In the meantime I've been swimming everyday. That new pool at Nana and Papa's is so cool. Ileana and I had a great time last week...we swam everyday. My Mom and Dad have been in with me too. Check it out!

Ariba...Ariba.....Ya Mi Voy Otra Vez

Or in other words...Flat Dylly is on his way again!!!!!!! What a guy...he really knows how to get himself invited on all these trips. I should be so lucky.

This time Flat Dylly will be leaving with Uncle Gary and Aunt Jeannie. They tell me they've been to this place before and know all the cool places to visit. I know Flat will have a great time. Check back soon for more details...actually, he's leaving on Saturday.

Hasta la vista!!!!

What Happens In Vegas....Stays In Vegas!!!!

Let me tell you, Flat Dylly hasn't stopped talking about his latest adventure. As you can see he traveled to Las Vegas.
He says he had a great time with Terry and Santos.

Here he's ready to board his SW Airlines flight. The attendants were great sports....even stopping to pose with FD. Checkout his ticket and his personal seat....that's the life. First class all the way. Only in America!

Here's some of the attractions they took in. On this one ole FD thought he was in Paris. You just can't take the country out of this boy...he has lots to learn....needs to travel a little more don't you think? From the looks of these pictures...he was the life of the party. Click on the pictures for a better view.

Along the way FD saw this table and asked what it was for. After some discussion he decided he wanted to learn to play. This kid from Natalia had no idea what blackjack was...he though it was one of the horses at the end of the road. BUT, made us wait for the "free" lesson....he's too much.

Then they ran into "The King"....they didn't have the heart to tell the ole guy.....they had run into some of his brothers further back. But, being the polite paper person he is and since this guy was such a good sport... Flat took his picture with him anyway...."for the good times".

This was another great adventure...thanks so much Terry and Santos for taking the time AND having the patience to deal with Flat Dylly...you're the greatest.
He says he will travel with you anytime. Any idea where you're going next????

On The Road Again....

Hey all, it's me...Dylly....how has your week gone? Mine is just the greatest.
School is nearly over and we're having lots of great things happening at my school. I'll update you on that later.

Just wanted to check-in to let you know that Flat Dylly is on the road again.
That guy loves to travel...must be related to my Uncle Fred...he loves it too.
My friend Terry called to say she would take him with her on her vacation. Of course I jumped at the chance.

If he get's lucky, he may come back with a few extra coins in his pocket...if not, he'll still have a great time.

Look for pictures of his trip in a few days and have a wonderful rest of the week.

WOW, What a way to end FIESTA!

VIVA FIESTA!!!!!!

We went to the night parade together on Saturday. This is our yearly family/friends outing. We usually order about 75 tickets so everyone can have a great view of the parade and have fun. It's so much fun, can you tell I had a great time?

My cousins and I threw lots and lots of confetti all over the place. (One day we might just get a bill from the city for clean-up.) Here I was trying to catch some of the extra with my hat. Who needs confetti eggs anyway.

Thanks, Uncle Mario...you're da man!!!!! We wouldn't have this much fun without all the confetti you collect for us.

I made the online Fiesta slide show section of our local paper. Uncle Mario, Aunt Margo, cousins Lauren and Karyssa are in it too. It just wouldn't be Fiesta without some of us coming out in the local paper....only in San Antonio. It's our yearly goal ......spread lots of confetti and wait for the local reporter to come by. He/she will stop and "admire" your work and take lots of pictures. They take lots of pictures, but not all of them make the paper. We're good with that, as long as one of them does.. lol

Well, I have to run now. I'm on my way to a birthday party @ the newly remodeled Kiddie Park. I can't wait to get there..

Have a great week and VIVA FIESTA.

WOW, What A Trip!!!

It's official....Flat Dylly was vacationing in BELIZE.

Location Facts: Formerly British Honduras), it's a country in Central America. Belize has a diverse society, composed of many cultures and speaking many languages. Although Kriol and Spanish are spoken among the population, Belize is the only country in Central America where English is the official language. It's bordered by Mexico to the north, Guatemala to the south and west, and the Caribbean Sea to the east.

Was your guess correct?
He tells me he was having such a great time he just forgot to send pictures sooner. Likely story - don't you think?

I did get a call tonight to tell me he's finally on his way back to SA. It's about time...after all, he got back to Houston "last" week.

If you look closely, it seems he was having some really bad hair days. I can relate to that....I have those often myself......lol

When he called he told me Belize was a fun place to just relax and enjoy the sun.

He said he spent his days relaxing on the beach. Some days he had to stay behind at the hotel and rest. After all, he really didn't pack very well for this trip. His clothes were limited. We have lots to learn about traveling. He said there was good food, the locals were nice and lots to see....what more could you ask for. (Besides, he went for FREE!)

Thanks, for being such good sports Uncle Steven/Aunt Veronica . You're the BEST!

Okay, my friends....hope you enjoyed Flat's 1st adventure....stay tuned, there are many more trips coming this summer.

Houston - We Have A "Flat" Problem

Flat Dylly arrived in Houston for a quick visit with Uncle Steven/Aunt Veronica. He'll be staying there......just chillin' ...till the end of the week.

They tell me Flat arrived a little out of sorts. Those guys at USPS charge big bucks and don't do a very good job. They have the nerve to complain about having their work days cut.....I can see why. It's no wonder everyone likes to use email...faster and safer for these lil' Flat guys.

Friday is the big day to leave for the first destination. They've invited Flat Dylly to go along and of course I said "you betcha".

Don't you just love their flowers...my uncle just needed a woman's touch to make his home so pretty....good job Aunt Veronica. Just click on the picture to get a better look at Flat Dylly. He's right there with Uncle Steven. Isn't he cute... talking about Flat of course.

Be sure to check back next week to see where their headed. All I can say is... it should be fun.

Embarking On A New Adventure Series

Hey all it's me? I'm still here...just been busy at school.

I can hardly believe it..... only 10 weeks of school before summer vacation. Before we know it I will be going into the third grade. I'm sort of scared to go into that grade. I hear they have tons and tons of work...and the big TAKS test ....this is all too much for me. I still think home schooling would be great for me...don't you think so???

Okay, enough...with summer right around the corner I've decided to start something new. I have many relatives who love to travel and some who live very far away. I'll be sending my new "friend" FLAT Dylly on some adventures with them. He'll be traveling far and wide and sending back valuable information about his travels.

We took his first picture right here in our backyard. You know "there's no place like TEXAS" to begin your travels. He was out back playing in the bluebonnets and having a great time. If you look at his attire it might give you the first hint. Can you guess where he might be going? His motto will be "dress to impress". I will tell you he'll be having lots of fun and be in great company. As soon as he has a minute.... he'll send us the first picture.

Be sure to visit often, you never know where he'll appear.

Hockey Bee Update

Okay, friends....I went to the Bee and had a wonderful time. They say the second time can be a "charm" and it was. I felt very comfortable sitting in my "row" this time. In fact, I might have "enjoyed" it too much because I fell out in the 3rd round. Yep, you heard right, the 3rd round. I missed the word "walnut"...can you believe that. I can spell" oceanographer", but I missed "walnut". Oh well, it's not how good you spell the words, it's how much fun you have and I HAD LOTS!!!!!

This week is really tough at school. We're into geometry and it's very interesting. Then in science I have to do a report on jellyfish. I think I will make a video for my class presentation. I think it would be fun and interesting. I will have to check with my teacher first. Let's hope she agrees. With spring break coming next week...I would have plenty of time to practice. I know I can get it done.

Okay friends, lots of homework to do tonight. Check back often, you never know when I will update.

Love ya,
Dylan

Hello Everyone!

Gee, how time flies.....when I hear my parents say this I always wonder just what it means...now I think I know. It's been so long since I got together with my secretary to update this blog. One day it was January and now it's already March.

Let's see...where do I begin. In January I made the all A honor roll...that was great. In our math class we've been learning to multiply and divide...can you imagine that. My Mom says she never learned that in 2nd grade. I've really been teaching her a whole lot of things. It's like we're learning together. She says if she had know all of these "strategies" when she was small...she would have been a genius. What ever!!!!!!!!!!!

In February we had our Valentine celebration. I got lots of valentines from my friends and I also gave lots of them. What fun!

Now it's March and it's time for the Hockey Bee once again...remember, I went last year and stayed till the 5th round. When we had our spell off I didn't do to well. I came in third. It wasn't a good day for me. But, I got lucky (it is March ya know). The kid that beat me is not able to go so my teacher asked if I was willing to participate. I jumped at the chance to represent my school again. It's been short notice but I will try my best to get further this year. I've learned lots of new words. No one ever said 2nd grade would be easy. The Bee will be this Saturday, March 6th. Maybe I can find a lucky penny to put in my shoe. Wish me luck.

Back to the school scene: Yesterday was a TAKS day at school. In my class we also took a TAKS simulation. (That's a practice test) It was really hard to sit still for such a long time. I keep telling my Mom I don't want to go to 3rd grade because they have to take the "real" TAKS. I want her to "home school" me...my Nana just laughs. Can you see my Mom being my teacher...she says heaven help us.

Well, it's homework time again....more later. I will post after i get back from the Bee on Saturday.

Holiday Frenzy

Hello my loyal followers....did you think I had fallen off the face of the earth....just kiddin!

I have been so busy with the holidays and school that I failed to inform you that I won FIRST PLACE in the Science Fair......hooray for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've included some pictures of my board and my presentation for the judges. My hypothesis was correct....Munster cheese did mold the fastest. There were other first place winners in my grade level BUT I was the only first place winner with a perfect score. Can you tell I worked really hard on this project. When the judges came to my school I wore my lab coat to give my presentation....they were IMPRESSED. The judges were from the US Air Force. At first they thought I was just reading off my board, but when they started asking questions about my moldy cheese investigation and they realized I knew my stuff. This was a great experience....maybe I will continue to investigate this moldy mess and one day I will have all the answers.

My holidays were great too! Here's a family picture of all my family...we even included Olly. He and I were looking away when it was taken..thus a silly picture.

As for me, I received lots of gifts. I'm a real lucky boy. I have Lego's to last me a lifetime. If you don't believe me just come and check the floor in my room...you can't see the carpet because of all the legos. My Nana says I don't need any more for a longgggggggg time. She must be kiddin' right??

Everytime I walk into Walmart or Target they call my nameD Y L L Y...D Y L L Y....and they even give me their isle number. The loud speaker in the store says...."Dylly...Lego's....Isle 10.....I just can't help myself. I'm a Lego fanatic.

School is going great too. We're already learning fractions...can you believe that? We had a fraction party on Friday...we had pizza...graham crackers, cake and lots of other eatables to checkout and eat. What better way to learn fractions.

Well, this is the end of my update for today. Sorry for not posting lately. My New Year's resolution will be to post more often. Things are starting to happen at school so we should have lots to say...in fact, the Hockey Bee is right around the corner...I hope to be a contestant again this year....wish me luck.
